There are multiple models of Grid computing and multiple Grid computing middleware systems. These systems approach problems from different perspectives, and strive to serve different needs. Combining these different models has numerous advantages, but there are also numerous challenges to making disparate systems work together. In this talk we describe our work on The Lattice Project, in which we combine BOINC, Globus, and Condor and our own middleware tools to form a comprehensive, multi-resource Grid computing system.
