SIG-SYS Fall 2008 - Talk on 11/05/2008

Title: Industrial presentation: Sicortex

Speaker: Jeffrey Durachta and Joseph Mannino

Abstract:
SiCortex Lunch & Learn Seminar is a technical discussion on high node count application programming. "The View From 5832" is an approximately one hour technical discussion encapsulating our experiences about the behavior of applications when they run on thousands of processors, focusing on interprocessor communications, memory balance, and other relevant topics and is given by one of our senior systems software architects (we can tailor it to your audiences particular interests and the time available).

For the seminar, SiCortex will bring their desk-side SC072 system, a 72 CPU system in a PC enclosure that plugs into a wall socket and draws only 200W, and if an internet connection is available, also access to one of their high-node count systems (the SC5832).
