Curriculum Vitae

Casey Casalnuovo is currently a Junior undergraduate student at the University of Delaware, who is majoring in Computer Science and minoring in Mathematics. He is currently working in the GCLab under Professor Michela Taufer and Professor Petr Plechac learning CUDA, a parallel programing extension to C. This will be used in order to improve the efficiency and robustness of a project to simulate Kinetic Monte Carlo algorithms using the power of parallel processing in GPUs. Kinetic Monte Carlo algorithms can useful for modeling certain physicochemical processes in biology and chemistry, and also have applications to agent-based problems in traffic networks, ecology, and epidemiology.
